Install the Hildie
Chrome Extension

Hildie needs a small Chrome extension to browse the web on your behalf — opening tabs, reading pages, and taking actions in your browser.

Download the extension

Click below to download the Hildie Chrome extension as a zip file.

Unzip the folder

Find the downloaded file in your Downloads folder and double-click to unzip. You will get a folder called hildie-chrome-extension.

Open Chrome Extensions and enable Developer Mode

In Chrome, navigate to:

chrome://extensions/

Toggle on Developer mode in the top right corner.

Load the extension

Click Load unpacked and select the hildie-chrome-extension folder from step 2.

The 🌹 Hildie icon will appear in your Chrome toolbar. Done!

Why Developer Mode?
Chrome requires Developer Mode to load extensions directly from a folder. This is standard for beta software. We are submitting Hildie to the Chrome Web Store — once approved, installation will be one click.

Is this safe?
Yes. The Hildie extension only connects to your local Hildie app on your Mac. It never contacts external servers independently. You can inspect all source files in the extension folder.
